The Hard Rock was ecstatic to see the number two team in the country, the Miami Hurricanes, take care of business against the unranked underdog Louisville Cardinals.

What instead happened was an upset that’s implications will echo throughout the rest of the season. Dropping Quarterback Carson Beck’s Heisman odds from +350 to +2500 on BetMGM.

This meteoric drop was due to his four-interception performance, one of which occurred in the final seconds of the game by sophomore linebacker T.J. Capers, sealing he win for the Cardinals.

Going into the game, Miami was the number 14 run defense in the country, spearheaded by projected 1st round pick Rueben Bain Jr.

Louisville running back Issac brown must not have heard, as he ran all over the Canes for 115 yards and 7.5 yards a carry.

Not all hope is lost for the Canes as standout freshman Wide Receiver Malachi Toney caught nine balls for 135 yards. He also totaled 14 yards rushing with a touchdown.

Malachi Toney on his 61-yard catch.

When going for a two-point conversion, Malachi Toney took the ball on an option pitch, throwing the ball into the endzone to breakout star wide receiver C.J. Daniels.

We will see if the Louisville Cardinals will carry this momentum into next week’s matchup against the currently 1-5 Boston College, who play UConn on Saturday.

Miami will try to bounce back against the currently 2-4 Stanford, who play the Florida State Seminoles, another team hoping to regain footing after losing three straight.
